What is No Win No Fee? Your Legal FAQs Answered?
In this short video, David Synnott explains the meaning of ‘no win no fee’ in the context of legal services. The video explains how solicitors can cover costs such as medical and expert reports, making it easier for accident victims to pursue claims. It also emphasises the importance of confirming this arrangement with your solicitor in writing from the start
In Irish law, No Win No Fee* agreements between clients are legal, but there are strict guidelines and criteria to follow for this type of legal agreement. Solicitors are not allowed to advertise their services. A No Win No Fee agreement means that if accident victims are not in a position to cover their case outlay costs, such as medical reports, stamp duty, expert report fees, etc., solicitors will cover these outlay costs.
*In contentious business, a solicitor may not calculate fees or other charges as a percentage or proportion of any award or settlement. This statement is made in compliance with Regulation 8 of the S.I. 518 of 2002.
